Yesterday I walked out the dock and for some reason Cooter flies away now while Henrietta stays in the nest and SQUAWKS!!
She allowed me to take these close ups while Cooter rested his tired wings two docks over (photo #013) up on the roof......
This has been an amazing saga and it's hard to believe the "Kids" are only about 10 weeks old..............learning more and more each and every day!! Stay tuned for more......

A very active morning with Cooter and Henrietta looking on from the ole nest!!  They are about full grown now and I haven't seen Mom & Pop lately........their education continues as I suppose they are on their own now??

Lots of clouds again this morning after a very rainy Sunday & weekend.....total rainfall since 9:00 PM Friday is 8.68".....UNREAL!!!

The clouds this morning were magnificent and the Sun managed to peek under and over them illuminating huge Cumulus clouds to the South!!  The light reflected from the big Cumulus clouds in turn illuminated the dark clouds in front of the Sun to the Northeast.......an eerie glow covered the entire sky as the Thunder rumbled to the South.....WOW!!

As I walked back in I noticed a small rainbow over the nest with Henrietta watching it where's Cooter.......hiding from the storms??  You can hardly see the nest. Happy Monday!!

And then there was ONE........it appears Cooter has left the nest for good (only one bird the last few days) leaving Henrietta to fend for herself.....!!

Well........after a stormy night and almost 1.5" of rain, I wandered out about 5:50 and was greeted by Gale force winds out of the Northeast and guess what.....MORE RAIN....Grrrr!!!!

I retreated to the house and waited 'til it began to brighten up a little and "low and behold" (Southernese for "to my amazement") the sky was aglow to the Northeast as the dark clouds moved to the Southeast!!  It was still blowin' like crazy but it was actually quite pretty........I hope it clears up today??

Poor Henrietta stayed on the nest through the stormy night and was silhouetted against the golden sky squawking at me as I walked down the dock.......she flew to a nearby tree when I got too close and continued her tirade!!

Henrietta is still hanging around and is catching her own fish which is a good thing but she will have to fly South for the WINTER before long?? Happy Wednesday!!

A very bleak morning as heavy clouds covering half the sky blocked the Sun completely........but the birds were out in force including our "Lonely Girl" Henrietta!! 

I'm not sure what is keeping her here but I have not seen any other Ospreys for a couple of weeks now.......also notice that the nest is falling apart!!  You'd better get on to Florida gal......WINTER here won't be much fun for ya!! Happy Friday!!

Henrietta refuses to leave....wonder what kind of "house pet" they make??  I know WINTER won't be fun for her and hopefully she will follow the fish as they move Southward when the water cools off?? Happy Sunday!!

I took a photo of Henrietta's empty nest just after she left to go fishing......she's staying gone most of the day but returns at dusk?? Happy Monday!!

And....yes, Henrietta is still on the nest but she is staying away most of the day now!!  Perhaps she'll find a friend on his way South and join him for Winter in Florida and come back to see us in Spring?? Happy Tuesday!!
