Biographical Information
I was born at St. Mary Hospital Clarksburg, Harrison Co. West Virginia and raised there and Upshur county , The hospital I have learned was torn down to build a parking lot. Most of my childhood was spent near Hodgesville, West Virginia at the home of my parents Mr. Benton Glenn Powers Sr. and Mrs. Oneita Mae Karickhoff on highway 119 about eight mile from Buckhannon, West Virginia. After getting custody of me as a small child due to the divorce from my birth mother Francis June Harris she later married Richard Gerald Hood.
In 1963 I married Danny Lee Husk Sr. son of Floyd Arthur Husk Sr.. We have four children Danny Lee Jr. , Richard Gerald, Johnny Ray, and Kathrina Jean (Husk) Toole.
After Danny retired we tried traveling a bit and then we settled where we liked it at the best. We now live in Lanark Beach, a section of Lanark Village Florida, four mile from Carrabelle, Florida. Our at home children now consist of two (poodles) Critter and (C. J.) short for Critter Jr. he was pick of the litter.
Living here I had the great fortune to be inspired to write some poetry. Simple as it is it is about the lives of others and things around me here in the area. I was encouraged by all who saw or read my work to try and get it published. Which I did!!
"Love Always" "Glory's Way" is Poetry stories in rhyme from my life along the Forgotten Coast of Florida on the Gulf of Mexico.
I have as of July 12, 2011 bought back the rights to my book, it is no longer with PubliahAmerica, but there are still copies of it floating around out there. I'm in the process of thinking about signing it up with Amazon.com.
